The crew had managed to jettison their bombs. He is buried in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Henley-on-Thames Additional information He was born in Steeple Aston In view of this man's rank it is probable that he had served on board for some time so a potted history: HMS Inflexible was a battle cruiser built before WW1 who had an active career. She and her sister ship HMS Invincible sank the armoured cruisers SMS Scharnhorst and SMS Gneisenau during the Battle of the Falkland Islands.
