He died from his wounds on 31 August 1918. He was 19.
He was the son of Harry and Jane Dean, Barn Cottages, Tracey, Enstone
He is buried in grave  B 17  Ligny-Sur-Canche British Cemetery.

Henry Victor FRIEND

He was killed in action on 6 October 1918 during the Final Advance in Artois. He was 31

He had joined the RAF just before WW2. After a tour in Coastal Command, he was posted to Canada and then to 211 Squadron. This squadron became operational in the Far East in January 1944 equipped with Beaufighters armed with the, then
novel, rockets
On 18 October 1944, six aircraft led by Squadron Leader
Martineau attacked Mingaladon airfield in Burma (Myanmar). Japanese fighters chased the Beaufighters. Rodney Coles and his Navigator Flying Officer Raymons S Painter did not return.
