CLARKE, Ernest W
Private, Royal Fusiliers.
Awarded the Silver War Badge 17 July 1919 on the grounds of sickness. He had been serving as Private, Army no 352662 in the Labour Corps. This ties in with a death of Ernest W CLARKE, age 27, in Bedale Registration District in the quarter ending June 1920 but I cannot link this to the Royal Fusiliers.
However, there is a Probate Record which records that Ernest William Clarke, Gatenby, Bedale died on 24 April 1920 and his Estate was to be administered by Elizabeth Serwood, widow, and John Clarke, Farmer.
