Charles Haddon COZENS Serjeant, 1st Battalion, Duke of Edinburgh’s (Wiltshire Regiment). Army no 3/9223 He died from his wounds on 13 September 1916. He was 24 He is buried in the eastern part of the churchyard of St James' Church, Bourton Additional Information He was the son of the late Edwin and Ellen Cozens of Bishopstone, Shrivenham Henry Thomas LYNN Private, 2nd Battalion, Duke of Edinburgh’s (Wiltshire Regiment), 21 Brigade, 7th Division. Army no 18232 He was killed in action on 17 May 1915 at the Battle of Festubert. He was 18 He is remembered on panel 33 and 34 of Le Touret Memorial Bingham Alexander TURNER DSO Captain, 6th Battalion The Rifle Brigade, The Prince Consort's Own. He was killed in action on 2 November 1914. He was 37 He is remembered on panel 46 - 48 and 50 of the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres Additional Information He was the son of the late General Alexander and Helen Bingham Turner of Milesdown, Winchester and the husband of Gladys Gooch (formerly Turner), Hodcott House, West Ilsley, Newbury The Fallen in WW2 Wilfred John BROWN Private, 5th Battalion, The Wiltshire Regiment Army no. 5577170 He was killed in action on 10 July 1944 in the fighting for Hill 112 during the battle for Normandy after the Allied invasion. He was 21 He is buried in grave VIII A 20 St Manvieu War Cemetery, Cheux, Normandy Additional Information He was the son of Herbert John and Elisabeth Annie Brown of Bourton Walter William TIMMS Private, 5th Battalion, The Wiltshire Regiment Army no. 5577031 He was killed on 2 October 1944 on active service as part of the Allied Army which fought their way through, and liberated, France, Belgium and Holland. He was 21 He is remembered on panel 5 of the Groesbeek Memorial, Holland Additional Information He was the son of William Henry and Alice May Timms of Bourton Further information The Groesbeek Memorial stands within Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery and commemorates by name more than 1,000 members of the Commonwealth land forces who died during the campaign in north-west Europe between the time of crossing the Seine at the end of August 1944 and the end of the war in Europe, and whose graves are not known.
